Michael Rosete
Portfolio Accountant, SeattleQ: When did you start working with us and what was your role?
A: I started back in June of 2021 as a junior accountant. I was mostly helping the senior members of the team with getting invoices and receivables posted and reconciled in our system.
Q: How did you get started in the industry?
A: This is my first job in property accounting! Prior to this, I was a revenue accounting specialist with SeaWorld. Reviewing the financial health of a theme park is different from reviewing the financial health of a residential property.
Q: What is your favorite part of working at our company?
A: Coming from a corporate background that has regularly tight schedules and deadlines, I appreciate the relaxed working pace at this company. I enjoy having the time reflect on my work and review areas where I could improve on.
Q: What do you think makes our team culture unique?
A: For the accounting team, what makes it unique is that you get to work on other projects and tasks that are not strictly accounting. I think that these projects assist in my growth outside of accounting.
Q: What is one of the coolest things that you wish people knew about our company?
A: The Nectar rewards system is my favorite employee benefit. It serves as a good morale booster for everyone on the team. On top of that, we get to receive well-deserved gifts through that system! For the accounting team, what makes it unique is that you get to work on other projects and tasks that are not strictly accounting. I think that these projects assist in my growth outside of accounting
Q: Describe what a perfect day outside of work would look like for you.
A: My perfect day would be relaxing at a ski resort. The mountain is my winter playground and I would be exploring every inch of it on my snowboard. After a long day of exploring, I would relax
Q: What’s one thing on your bucket list?
A: One thing on my bucket list would be to go to Europe and snowboard down the face of the Alps.
Q: What’s one thing people don’t know about you that they would be surprised to find out?
A: People would be surprised to know that I have visited every state in the United States! The shortest time spent in a state would go to Nebraska clocking in at around 30 minutes!
